All the rest … 4 months, 3 weeks agoIf there was a T-Rex alive today, it would have a much better chance of completing a thousand pushups than BTalks ever becoming a civil forum.

Bakersfield news 9 months, 3 weeks agoAD, I am sure you are aware that I have shared with you some of my past criticism of the community, both old and new. As of late, however, staying on the sideline mostly as an observer when I check in from time […]

The news of Don Mason’s death quickly permeated through our local photography community on Facebook the same day he passed away. I […]

honorerdieu posted on the forum thread Is TBC Censoring the Right? in the topic
Bakersfield news: 1 year, 8 months agoI felt compelled to chime in about this disturbing thread, even though I could not believe my eyes at some of the responses I was reading. I feel so bad for Jamie and the other moderators who must endure this kind of negativity and baseless accusations from several folks. And I also feel bad for [...]

In reply to: honorerdieu posted an update: Still too much negativity here. Made the wrong choice to be active in this new forum again. ViewShwaine – I’ve been around commenting on news articles lately, but not as much as I used to.
AD – Me too, but I just gave this site a third chance.
And now, I can see quickly where this site is heading toward to. I prefer to participate in online forums where the negativity isn’t this atrocious. Wish I could take unique individuals like…[Read more] -

All the rest …: 1 year, 8 months agoI didn’t vote for Brown either. But I wanted to comment on this thread to point out an irony. National news: 1 year, 8 months agoLamonster, it’s the culture and the priorities of the Japanese and South Koreans who place higher importance on education than material things such as home ownership and cars. IMHO, to view home ownership as our primary investment is often why many of us are in debt. It doesn’t educate the ailing American workforce today who [...]

National news: 1 year, 8 months ago“The home is what puts the “nest” in nest egg” and when retirement approaches, along with the “empty nest” we sell the big home, buy something more appropriate for an older couple and bank the difference as part of our retirement fund. It’s part of what makes that “Yesterday” that you mention above, work.” That [...]

National news: 1 year, 8 months ago“So what to the OWS people want?”
Perhaps the same thing that the Tea Partiers wanted — responsible governing. There were times when they would be irrational and rhetorical, but I understood what they were protesting about.

National news: 1 year, 8 months agoIt appears to me that the Tea Party and the OWS are not that different in one respect: their intention to address the government corruption occupied by politicians — Democrats and Republicans alike.

It was nice to see you again, even for a little bit.
I’m still tentative at this point.
I’m a second-chance sort of person, though.
