Yep, Wordpress appears to filter the tags and then wrap the lines in p tags. I’ll see how hard it is to preserve the pre tags. I’m sure some of the discussions on here wouldn’t be complete without the wisdom of ‘cowsay’.

I think the pre tag is currently filtered out, lets see:

Last tip: If you want to prevent a link from turning into an embed then leave off the http:// and wordpress will still turn your URL into a link but the embed won’t happen.
