Really, just what kind of magic is involved that transforms a pre-born human being into a person upon birth so as to accord him or her an inalienable right to life?

While still waiting for an answer about this portal that magically transforms clumps of cells and tissues into a fully formed person just as he or she enters the world, I would like to hear from the ex-blob who needled me about a Catholic hospital not regarding a fetus as a person. Perhaps you’d like to walk that back in light of its mea culpa?

“Life” can be a weed in a flower garden. Sentient life (self awareness) is somewhat more animated. Where does one definition stop and another begin? Real brain teaser, even for the church.

Pax, I’m the blob who posted the article about the hospital in the UK saying a fetus isn’t a person, guess the bishops over there haven’t performed the Inquisition tortures to those administrators so they will recant their heresies. When a fetus can live outside the womb it is a person, until then it is a parasite. The problem with the Church is not a minority of bad priests, it is the systematic cover up of all sins committed by the clergy. The sooner they begin ordaining women and getting rid of celibacy the better off they will be.
