Personal finance: 1 year, 8 months agoWow. And they did that without a government regulation? Amazing. The government wasn’t involved. Do you know why the big banks don’t give you any interest on your savings account? Why should they when Barack and Tax Cheat Timmy are giving them free money right off the printing presses. Why should they pay you for [...]

Personal finance: 1 year, 8 months agoI was just perusing find a bank simply because of the debit card charge. I am thinking small and local like Mission. But an on-line only bank maybe an option.
Adding up all of the BofA’s recent stumbles, settlements, new charges and profit margin….they are losing a customer of over 25 years. -

Personal finance: 1 year, 8 months agoI can’t speak for their checking or savings account practices because I don’t bank with them for that, but I will vouch for their credit card fraud department any day. It is OUTSTANDING; extremely helpful and on top of things!

Personal finance: 1 year, 8 months agoAs of yesterday, the BofA spokesperson said the website was not under any kind of attack, including a DoS. That has not been independently verified, but if true that leaves my other theory from the bakersfield.com article last week: someone or some department has messed up the rollout of new code and/or networking infrastructure. Sounded [...]

Personal finance: 1 year, 8 months agoLucid, don’t you just love the free market? B of A charges what they think the market will bear, and they may have over estimated. Some will go, some will stay. Some banks will follow B of A, others won’t. It’s how the system is supposed to work, and it works just fine.

Personal finance: 1 year, 8 months agoNow of course BofA is being tight-lipped about exactly what is happening, but if it’s just a denial of service attack then your money is fine. That’s just the Internet equivalent of rioters in the street blocking access to the door. You’d only have to worry if it was the Internet equivalent of a bank [...]

Personal finance: 1 year, 9 months agoScene 1 was a violation of federal law on the part of the credit card company. If you open a bill to find unauthorized transactions and immediately notify the credit card company, you are only liable for $50. This rule does not get negated because you did not report the card as stolen. It is [...]

Personal finance: 1 year, 10 months agoYep, that IS a big problem for the Republicans. I can empathize with the tea partiers about getting a voice, but unfortunately, most of them, and especially their alleged leadership, are short on facts. Bill Maher calls Americans stupid, but I have more faith in them overall come crunch time. Show me a conservative who [...]
