There probably weren’t any charges filed; no one held accountable.

Any childs death is terrible. Sad the data for deaths is over 4 years old.

Of the Govt’s. 19 categories of accidental death, ranging from 1 thru 19, guns are #16 automobiles are #4 right behind #1 drowning #2 suffocation #3 falls. Accidental gun deaths by all age groups slightly less than 2% of all accidental deaths. Children represent less than half of that 2%. One of my sister in laws grand children a 5 year old was killed in a 4 wheeler accident while riding behind a 9 year old. What kind of parent in their right mind would let a 5 year old on a 4 weeler with a 9 year old. I don’t hear anybody whining about banning 4 weelers.

    Subject is guns Andy.

No, in this instance it was Machine Guns. But then you know that. But it’s ok, you can insist on it being anything you like. Doesn’t change the facts.

But these were police officers – the role models for gun safety. They left their guns lying around the house like toys. The were careless. The took no responsibility. That’s the common denominator among the articles I’ve been posting. It’s like the pro-gun lobby doesn’t factor in the problem of widespread carelessness of the people they sell guns to. Granted – when you purchase a gun for self-protection it implies that you are buying the gun to kill someone with it. 98% of the people who buy guns for that purpose will *never* use that gun for it’s intended purpose. Most of them are careful. But we have people buying guns who were careless **before** the bought a gun and the only person they ever shot with the gun was a relative. Why is it an offense to you to have the issue of gun safety brought to the front. You immediately start naming other sources of accident like you don’t want it mentioned that guns kill people.

Imagine that – A gun seller trying to scrub clean the reputation of the very business he labors in.

Highlighting the senseless death due to guns is no different than warning people of the dangers of drug abuse or driving without a seatbelt. You just don’t want YOUR bread and butter tainted with the reality that you and others are probably selling guns to people who don’t have the intelligence to be responsible for them. Yeah, it’s the same with people who would sell their car to an idiot but you don’t get special treatment and neither do they.

No it doesn’t change the facts. The facts are defenseless people are subject to be victimized by nuts who have access to military-style assault weapons designed specifically to kill people and some sort of control can diminish the threat. Those are the facts. You seem to have a problem acknowleging them.

Tell me about those military-style assault weapons designed specifically to kill people. What is it that they do that is different from any other firearm. ? Please be specific.

What is to keep the military or national guard from using their assault weapons, designed specifically to kill people, from using those weapons on defenseless people of the USA??

Andy, if you can, read the topic title.

You responded to a remark I made about machine guns. Specific enough ?

  • Profile picture of Groucho Groucho said 4 months ago:

You want to speculate about the coming apocalypse, right? Go to the front of the NRA line, John. You just earned your strips. Paranoia has advanced the NRA cause for a hundred years. You’re leadership material.
