Shotguns have always been a firearm of choice for alot of people. Stagecoach guards preferred shotguns. Doc Holiday killed Tom McLaury with a shotgun. Wyatt Earp killed Curley Bill with a shotgun. I recall in my childhood, my dad got together with several guys and went hunting with shotguns. I’m sure some would argue a machine gun is better for whatever purpose. Shotguns do have their effectiveness.
As I’ve stated before, if people–including college co-eds on campus–run around with firearms expecting a crazed rapist, they’ll cross paths with one. He may be a seedy panhandler, or a loud drunk, or a black teen wearing a hoodie and walking home, but nothing makes the streets safer than more guns.
