    Not an Onion story.

An ongoing argument between neighbors about a couple dumping dog feces on their elderly neighbor’s patio came to a head Monday morning when the neighbor shot and killed them, police say.

Police say Chung Kim, 75, lived in an apartment below Jamie Stafford and Michelle Jackson, both 31. There had been an ongoing dispute about the couple dumping their dog’s feces on Kim’s patio and front door, police say.

During an argument Monday morning, police say Kim used a handgun to shoot Jackson outside the door on her balcony. Kim then went upstairs into the couple’s apartment and shot at Stafford, who was climbing over the back patio railing. Stafford fell to the ground and Kim went outside, stood over Stafford and shot him again, police say.

Both victims were shot multiple times. They died at the scene.

The dead woman left behind five orphan children, all but one of which were at school when the shooting occurred.

Our approach to gun ownership is working out so well.

Reminds me of a case in SF I had a ringside seat to. Guy would walk his dog and let the pet dump on his neighbor’s manicured lawn. Neighbor’s complaints were ignored and finally he got fed up and brandished a handgun to shoot the dog.
Long story short, it wound up in suit and counter suit. The judge called both counsel to the bench and made it plain that he did not want “this stupidity” in his court; his docket was filled with serious cases, he was in no mood to deliberate dog poop between two rich old men who had nothing better to do with their time and money. The case was settled out of court.
Were I on the jury, I’d probably sympathize with Mr. Kim and call it justifiable homicide. Were I in his place, I’d probably gather photo evidence and witnesses and make going to court worth my time.

Mile-if this was a stolen gun, I’d agree with you. But the laws weren’t what failed this couple. The fact that they had driven this 75 year old man looney toons over their inconsideration is what failed them. This guy, likely, from the perspective of one doing a background check would have passed a background check. Also, he had likely had some sort of training. Anyone that has ever taken a firearms class can tell you that one of the fundamental things they teach is that if you’re going to brandish a firearm, you best be prepared to fire it. So whose to say a more thorough background check, risk insurance, and proper training would have meant the difference in this case, mile? What the left need to understand on this issue is that ‘stuff’ is still going to happen with or without an AR ban, background checks, and so on because we are a violent culture. What the right need to understand is that while stricter laws won’t prevent all tragedies from occuring, it prevents enough to justify having those laws in place, IMO.

It aint brain surgery! No gun, no murder! The second amendment provides a mandate for state and local ‘militia’-in other words POLICING. It doesn’t guarantee individual gun ownership. Unless you are a cop or a servicemember, you shouldn’t be allowed to own a firearm. Period. The craziness needs to stop! This planet is being overtaken by loons and its time to grab the guns!

Larry, what is is your address. I have Anti gun signs, and would like to hang one up in your yard. It would come in pretty handy with all the prison re-alignment going on.

Maybe we should also get rid of alcohol and cars….The Alcohol worked out SOOOOO well almost 100 yrs ago, didn’t it

Too bad you have no problem with abortion leading in the # of deaths every year.

Mikey-maybe you should look at everywhere else in the world where alcoholic consumption is culturally most accepted. You don’t see the level of abuse in those countries for a number of reasons; one of the biggest is that there isn’t the level of ‘stigma’ around drinking as there is here in the united states. As to your abortion comment, I’ll say only this. It isn’t my body and a blastocyst (wad of tissue) isn’t a life.

In the darker regions of my heart, I applaud Mr. Kim, but guns are not the answer. Maybe pulling the gun and making them eat the dog poop would have sufficed.

…second Groucho’s idea. OR maybe just smearing it on their door maybe! I feel that same level of pissed over people who litter their cigarette buts wherever they please.

I thought guns were for self-protection. I don’t see any threats of violence toward Mr. Kim. Is this to say that if you are upset with an idiot neighbor, you can kill them? I think if that were the law of the land, we’d all be dead by next Sunday.

I think most people can relate to the repeated provocation of jerk neighbors rather than Kim’s overreaction. He did what many of us wish we could do.
Once upon a time a neighbor’s rat dog would use my lawn for its business. When it got ran over by a car, I became convinced that there is a God who answers prayer.

Mile-and cars are intended to be used for transportation, but they occasionally used as offensive weapons. Guns don’t begat violence. Violence begats violence

I’ve yet to see a car climb up to a 2nd story apartment and run over it’s occupants. Maybe it has happened somewhere. Somewhere out there the rule of law is embraced by responsible people.

Tim McVey didn’t even use a gun, and he killed WAY more people. Come to think of it, they were on multiple floors of a large building.
He used firtilizer, diesel fuel and a moving van that he rented…….
It ain’t the gun. It’s the person.

I bet MM is against the death penalty too.

Fact…if our prison system was harsher…..much harsher, these types of issues would pale in comparison to the numbers that we see today.

You liberals just love to point out the symptoms of your failed policies, and blame others for them, even inanimate objects (guns).

HLN says California is the only state that checks citations for domestic violence, unlawful threats, brandishing/unlawful discharge; mental breakdowns; etc. against gun registrations. An ATF task force gets the referrals and homes and cars are searched and guns and ammo is confiscated. Oftentimes the suspect has an outstanding warrant or is arrested for unlawful possession. I’m talking people who have no business possessing firearms. (This is after the court orders the person to turn in his firearms and he doesn’t.)
The few on the task force investigate 2,000 referrals per year, while 3,000 are issued. The record number of illilicit firearms possessed by one person is–would you believe–600.
By the end of the year, the ATF task force is expected to double, to handle the backlog. Not surprising, the NRA lobbied against the program.
