Now that we have all watched the Oscar presentations (probably because nothing else was on the tube), any impressions?
I liked the musical number “We Saw Your Boobs,” which gave a run down on actresses who have exposed themselves on the silver screen. At least Oscar has kept a sense of humor and is not so over-dignified that it can’t make fun of itself.
As to who won for what category, I can’t really comment. I haven’t been a movie goer this past year and to my loss, haven’t seen the 2012 films. I’m one of these people who wait for the DVD.
After the show, Mrs. Catpaw is resolved to rent “Life of Pi” and I have got to spend an evening watching “Lincoln.”

I got a kick out of Capt. Kirk myself, even if he is fatter and aged. Also liked the James Bond tributes. OMG, isn’t Shirley Bassi (sang “Goldfinger”) become an old crone? And so has cute and pert Sally Field. Not to mention a number of other favorite actors. Is that some of us as well? : )
Talking heads on HLN said that the Academy wanted to attract more of a male audiance, as they don’t give a rat’s tail about a gown some starlet is wearing; unless it shows some skin, which none of the dresses did this year.
I appreciate the effort, but I’m still not a die hard Academy Awards fan. The Oscars still have a streak of politicking.

The Oscars were not nearly as entertaining as watching the apparently constipated John Boehner squirm and grimmace during the SOTU address. Evidently having to sit BEHIND the black man is too much for his stomach to bare.
