How Is One To Vote… (16 posts)

Its not easy being a social conservative that fiscally leans a tad left of center. How can a political ugly duckling vote? Its as though one presidential candidate has promised to kill my son if elected, and the other candidate has promised to kill my daughter if elected. If I vote for a third, fourth, or fifth guy, its basically a wasted vote. Romney has promised to end subsidies to Amtrak, despite record ridership and an operational budget that’s a fraction of what our government invests in other less energy efficient transportation options. He also seems to have contempt for the working poor (47% remark) and seems to have a strange definition of ‘small businesses’ (WalMart). So, he would also end Obamacare, without any really clear alternative plan. While, there are serious problems with Obamacare, I really haven’t heard any viable alternatives from the GOP camp. I’m equally concerned that Obama will continue to sit on his thumbs and continue a wait and see foreign policy that has resulted in embassies being attacked and an Iran moving closer to nuking our allies (particularly Israel). I am also alarmed as to how this president seems to think he can tell companies that they have to provide services that violate said company’s values and morals. I’m concerned that America’s Holocaust of Unborn will not just continue, but that this administration will make certain that we all ‘pay our fair share’ in financing this atrocity.

In your case you will have to decide which in your mind is the lesser of two evils.

This election is easy for most independents like myself, which is why Romney will probabaly win. Four more years of Obama and we are ripe for a revolution, the U.S. borrows about 40 cents for every dollar it spends. In the last fiscal year, the U.S. spent $3.456 trillion but raised only $2.162 trillion in revenues and Obama will just increase entitelments for his voting base. That plus so many lies he says and promises he will never keep. and well, there is alot more, but we have covered all this and more on this blog already. Vote Romney, dont vote for revenge, like Obama says, Vote for Love of country, like Romney says.

That’s hard to decide, Andy, when you feel as though either candidate will, in one way or another, sink this country. My only hope is that whatever party takes the White House, that the other party wins the House and Senate. Good Lord, I just advocated for four more years of gridlock! Well, that’s what happens when siblings fight, I guess. The toy gets taken away from both of them!

Mach-I suppose that voting base you speak of would be the 47%ers?

Dont get hung up on one line Romney said that he said off the cuff and was not what he meant to say, you know, like things Obama says every day, voting for revenge?,

I kind of like this one. Or is it really a gaffe? I remember he told Ryan in the debate that he always says what he means.

Can you imagine the media firestorm if it were a Republican VP saying all these gaffes? just another media double standard example

I don’t have to imagine it. I just remember the Bush/Quayle years.

it is unfortunate for the citizens of this country that the media has become a lapdog of one party.

Mach, I think you are a pretty sharp guy, but look in the mirror and tell yourself you are truly an independent, then wink.

I must be an independent. I voted for Clinton twice. With the exception of rolling over for the anti gun folks I thought he was pretty good as far as presidents go.

For those who truly are still undecided, Chris Rock can help.
