    Link will give you restaurants that offer free chow or discounts for Vets Day. Last year I pigged out at Olive Garden. Didn’t even have to wait in line. I wore my combat infantry badge on my collar. A waitress said she was from a military family, knew what the badge was, and thanked me for my service. Got lots of attention.
    The food? Better than eating C-rations in a mudhole.

    The best I can recall, the C.I.B. Was last seen in a bar in Baltimore. I’ve got some other stuff I can use.

    Some restaurants ask for some sort of proof: Discharge, membership card for vets club, wear a uniform, etc. Golden Corral just takes your word. I wasn’t asked for any proof last year but will have my discharge paper just in case.
    Pay attention to day (Sunday or Monday) and times of free chow give-away. Some joints just offer vets a discount.

    Most places don’t ask for proof. It’s an honor system. Most vets are honorable ;-)
    My wife (a vet) and I are going to Roadhouse Grill tomorrow and Cal Pizza Kitchen on Monday.
    Got a free oil change for both cars today.

    Beats getting jeered at and spit at after returning from Nam.

    Whe I was at the South SF airport in uniform some college-aged girl made a “baby killing” remark. I didn’t react, my mind was on going home. Several other people who heard the insult told her what a jerk she was.
