We may not be able to stop every mass killing ~ but that does not mean we should simply build fortresses and arm ourselves to the teeth. No single solution is the answer ~ there are many layers to consider.
In our quest to understand the unthinkable some point to the lack of faith/mores ~ yet what can divide us quicker than that? Your beliefs, her beliefs my beliefs or the unbelievers ? We have seen some that claim a allegiance to a belief commit atrocious acts that fly in the face of those beliefs.
I’d like to suggest a broader approach ~ a sense of community. We all connect to a whole~ even as our differences stand. Most of us have that bond ~ but far too many feel disconnected.
We owe Olivia and all the victims of senseless violence ~ our honest attempt to make the world a safer place.
