Shady Hook elementary Principal Dawn Hockspoung greeted her students and staff each morning with the message “Be nice to each other”.
There are some laying blame on the mother ,while there are some questions about choices she made… we can only second guess those actions.
There is a article in today’s TBC that outlines some of what it is to be a full-time caregiver. Recommended reading for some insight regarding her reality. I know those cost firsthand ( also the joys) ~ as did this mother. I truly believe she had no idea what her son planned. By all accounts she was a responsible parent. She was trying to plan a future for them both, with an eye to the day when she died. Not that day, not by her own sons hand , and not by four shots to the head.
It will take time for some people to recognize that she was the first victim that day, some will never come to see that.
It is natural to try to find a place to lay the blame ~ just not one place. There are many factors behind this tragedy ~ some we will never know.
Harboring hate in your heart only hurts you.
